FAQ about T-ball....
1. When does T-ball play?
Answer: T-ball games are played on Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday.
You will not play all of these days. There are two games per week, but those
two games could be any of these days.
2. When does T-ball practice?
Answer: T-ball games are designed so that the first 30 minutes prior to the
game is used for practice. Monday, Wednesday and Friday - the teams practice
from 600pm to 630pm. Then the games will start at 630pm. Saturday is the
busy day. There are 3 games on Saturday - 900am, 1030am and 12 noon. So the
first 30 minutes are designated for practice and then an hour is scheduled
for the game.
3. How many innings does T-ball play?
Answer: A T-ball game is 3 innings.
4. How many kids are on each team?
Answer: I try to limit each team to no more than 12 kids. T-ball is co-ed,
so there will be both boys and girls on each team.
5. What is the difference between signing up at Paddock Park or Merwood
Park?
Answer: T-ball plays their games at both parks. If you sign up for Merwood,
I will assign you to a Merwood team and try to schedule the majority of your
games there. The same goes if you sign up at Paddock. This doesn't always
work, it all depends on how many kids sign up for each park. But I do my
best to accommodate everyone. Please note, all Saturday games are played at
Paddock Park.
6. Can I make a request to play on a specific team?
Answer: Sure! I do my best to accommodate everyone's wishes. That being
said, I can't make everyone happy all the time... so the earlier you
register, the greater the chance of the request being granted. Requests are
just that, a request. I cannot leave a team with only 9 players and make a
team with 14 players because those 14 players are in the same class at
school. Please be understanding. T-ball is a fun time where children can get
out on the field, make new friends and learn a great game!
7. Can I coach my child's team or volunteer in any other way?
Answer: Absolutely! We are always looking for volunteers! I try to match
returning coaches with new coaches, so each year the coaches and build
experience through T-ball that will carry them through the higher age
brackets. I have a great mix of men and women coaches that have continued up
through the league. As for other volunteers, a parent from all families will
be assigned to work a shift in the snack shack at Paddock Park on a day when
your child's team is scheduled to play there (unless you choose to pay the
Opt Out fee in the registration process). I do the assignments for T-ball so
the coaches do not have to. The shift lasts 30 minutes and then you are
done! If you cannot work the shack on the day you are assigned, please
switch with another parent on your team. Also, children under 15 are not
allowed in the snack shack - so please keep that in mind if you have other
children and it is your day to work.
Thank you everyone for your time! I look forward to seeing you at the field.
